Volunteer Society Nepal : The best experience for volunteers, the best value for Nepal.

Volunteers’ support at Centre for Children with Intellectual Disabilities (CCID)

Many volunteers choose to raise funds for volunteering before arriving in Nepal. Recently,Jos de Klein and Willemien de Klein, a couple from The Netherlands, raised funds for the Centre for Children with Intellectual Disabilities. At Volunteer Society Nepal, we are extremely thankful to our volunteers who dedicated time, money and care to our projects. It is with the help of our volunteers and donors that we are able to continue our support for our projects in the local community.

A Kind Donation

Jos de Klein and Willemien de Klein used their funds to donate several useful objects to the disability centre in Kathmandu. We would also like to thank their family and friends who made the donations. With their funding, they were able to donate:

1. New carpets for three rooms and the corridor
2. Stainless steel cups 1 dz.
3. Stainless steel drinking glass ½ dz.
4. Stainless steel hotpot 2 sets
5. Writing copy 2 dz.
6. Writing pen 10 pcs
7. Chart papers 15 pcs
8. Paper cutting scissor 1 set
9. Whiteboard markers
10. Applied fresh paints on the walls of the rooms.
11. Deposited some fund for children’s welfare

These objects can help our students to learn better and in a nicer environment. It also makes teaching, feeding and looking after children easier for the carers/ teachers. We are very grateful.

A Himalayan Monastery

Jos de Klein and Willemien de Klein are now in Salleri, in the Himalayan region. They are helping young monks with their English language in the monastery. They will be involved in helping several other VSN projects. Before leaving in late November, Jos de Klein and Willemien de Klein will also join the Tibet tour, organised by VSN. Volunteer Society Nepal’s sister organization Travel Society Nepal will be handling all their trekking and travel related matters.

Volunteer Society Nepal and Centre for Children with Intellectual Disabilities would like to thank Jos de Klein and Willemien de Klein for their generous support.
