Construction of the VSN women center

The construction of the VSN women center is underway and is due for completion in late April/early May.

A Dream Come True

The long awaited dream is kick-started with the donation from our volunteer Thabke Dorje from Australia. The dream is of spacious rooms with lots of space for outdoor activities. It also includes a small organic vegetable garden. It now becomes a reality. Thabke is currently teaching English to the monk children at the monastery. He also teaches English at other schools around Kathmandu. The building will be named after his late mother.

About the Women Center

Basic English, Math and Computer classes will continue to run at the center. This will be complemented with more activities. Our fund-raising initiatives grow thanks to the donations from our volunteers and global community. The structure of the center will continue to expand. In this way we can introduce skills training such as tailoring, knitting and handicrafts. We can also start with yoga, fitness and health classes to improve the physical well-being and empowerment of the women.

We offer you to join our construction work volunteer program in Nepal or teach at our women center.

As a volunteer in the Construction Program you will work as part of a volunteer team. Often you’ll also work alongside villagers, learning about traditional methods of building and working.
