Volunteer Society Nepal : The best experience for volunteers, the best value for Nepal.

Volunteers’ Donation at Disability Centre:

Volunteer Society Nepal is extremely grateful to have received many donations from recent volunteers to further support our Centre for Children with Intellectual Disabilities (CCID). Miss Chitrah Devi Ramani, a young lady from Malaysia recently made a donation to the centre. It is because of people like Chitrah, that we are able to continue our projects. We are extremely thankful and hope you can return to Nepal soon.

A Nepali Warm Welcome

Her original plan was to volunteer at the Disability Centre. Unfortunately, at the start of her placement she informed us that due to her official responsibilities, she needed to leave Nepal. Nevertheless, she did manage a short visit to CCID on 10th of November. It was her birthday.

Chitrah was greeted with traditional Nepalese customs and rituals; she was welcomed with Tika, flower and scarf offered by Mina KC, the manager and dedicated teacher at CCID. The CCID family arranged a special programme for Miss Chitrah. The children danced and sang happy birthday songs. They also made birthday cards which they later presented to Miss Chitrah. In return, Chitrah offered chocolates, biscuits and fruits to the children. She also gave a donation of 45000 Nepalese rupees to Mina KC. She had a wonderful birthday celebration with the children at the centre and we are forever thankful for her kind contribution.

How a Donation Helps

Marc Van and Willemien/Jos de Klein from The Netherlands also made a donation of Euro 700 and 400 respectively to CCID.

VSN and CCID family would like to thank Miss Chitrah, Mr Marc and Willemein and Jos for their kindness, generosity, time and effort to further help care for the children. The generous support of individuals like you makes it possible for our organization to exist. We know that without our volunteers, we would not be able to provide the Nepalese community with the projects we have managed to establish. The local community often isolates disabled children from society. We are forever thankful for people like you who help us put a stop to this.

We also thank our dedicated former volunteers Hannelore & Mathias from Chautaara VZW, an organisation in Belgium. They provide continuous financial support to CCID. Due to their donations, we are able to give our best service to a group of intellectually disabled children of our community.

We are grateful for your support and look forward to the future. Every contribution we receive helps to ensure the financial security of CCID.

In Nepal, even a little goes a long way, and a lot goes very far!
