Volunteer Society Nepal : The best experience for volunteers, the best value for Nepal.
Thabke Dorje, from Australia has proposed an AIMS Scholarship for the students of AIMS School. The main objective of this proposal is to motivate students to achieve higher standards both academically and personally. It also aims to promote the AIMS school in its community to attract a higher quality staff to the school. The “Rosemary Bruce Memorial Trust” is the provider of the donation. Dorje established the trust in memory of his mother. This trust also helped with the construction of the women center. VSN will release the funds annually. We are extremely thankful to Dorje for supporting VSN and its projects.
Three students will receive the scholarship each year. The scholarships will be awarded at the beginning of the new academic session. The criteria are based on academic achievement, attendance and personal character. The school staff will choose the scholarship winners. Dorje handed over the funding for the scholarship to the founder of AIMS school on the 20th January 2018. It was Parents day at the school and marked a wonderful recognition of hard work and perseverance.
Earlier Dorje worked as an English and Science teacher. He had a life-changing experience while working there. This is his 2nd visit to Nepal and he is very excited to be a volunteering at the school again.
We are always looking for new volunteers to come and teach English or other subjects in schools like AIMS. If you are interested in volunteering with us, go to our Teach in Schools – volunteer page.
