One of the major festivals of Hinduism, Fagu or Holi is celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety on the full moon day in the month of Phalgun which is the month of March as per the Gregorian calendar. There are many legends relating this festival in Hinduism.
Holi (Fagu)  festival  is celebrated  with various names, and people of different places follow different traditions. But, what makes Holi (Fagu) so unique and special is the spirit of it which remains the same throughout the Nepal India and even across the globe, wherever it is celebrated.
VSN volunteers and team celebrated Holi on March 26th Tuesday with fervour and gaiety. Bright colours of vermillion powder “abeer” filled the air and everyone took turns in pouring colour water over each other. The event took place at Pepsicola Town Planning of Kathmandu. Children took special delight in spraying colours on one another with their pichkaris and throwing water balloons on passers by.
VSN volunteers moved around  enjoying the colours and also greeting the locals. It was a spectacular sight at Pepsicola  Town Planning area  with a large number of foreigners playing with colours. The program ended in the afternoon after having snacks & cold drinks at the nearby restaurant.
