Volunteer Society Nepal : The best experience for volunteers, the best value for Nepal.

Therapist needed for Center with Disabled Children

Volunteer Society Nepal offers opportunities for physiotherapist, occupational therapist, music therapist and art therapist. They can share skills and gain valuable work experience in our charity project “Centre for Children with Intellectual Disabilities” in Kathmandu. The project supports children with intellectual disabilities and those with severe & multiple disabilities. We teach them daily living activities and general education. In addition to schooling the children benefit from a range of recreational activities. These are music programs, occasional educational tours, special games and social events.

Need for Volunteers

Are you a fully qualified physio therapist, occupational therapist, music therapist or an art therapist? We can tailor you a placement where your skills will be put to good use. The volunteers at this placement would develop and implement all the therapy programs for mentally and physically disabled children. The therapies could be continued by the current staff after the volunteer has left. You’ll share your skills to train local staff. As a physiotherapist will help set up and develop physiotherapy services at the center.

Bring your skills and enthusiasm to those who need them most. This is a challenging endeavor but a greatly needed requirement for these intellectually & physically disabled children.

Students and Interns also Welcome

Even if you are just student, intern or a person with experience, knowledge & interest on above mentioned subjects, you are most welcome to volunteer at the “Center for Children with Intellectual Disabilities”. Even if you do not have physiotherapy background, you can follow our “Physiotherapy folder” & “Introduction to volunteers”. These arebcompiled and created by our past volunteer physiotherapist Ms. Lucy Mills from Australia. She had done a great job during her volunteering. General volunteers will be also engaged in taking care of children, educating, and feeding. The best way will be engaging the children in fun activities like telling them stories, teaching songs & singing /dancing, taking them to fun parks, zoo, picnics etc.

Interested persons are requested to visit our page contact at our email with CV, recent photo and cover letter.
