Famous Women Workshop At The Women Center
Volunteering is a passion of many volunteers. There is no age limit for volunteering. We have volunteers from all age groups wishing to help and share their ideas and knowledge with the people. Sarah is a volunteer from the USA. She is 19 years old and is here for 5 weeks to share her ideas with the women from the center through a workshop. Like this she is helping the women with their studies.
Reasons Behind Choosing Nepal
“I have always been in love with the Himalayas and the beauty of Nepal”, this is what Sarah tells. Her mother also visited Nepal thrice so the messages from her mother about Nepal and the Nepali people are reason she chose Nepal. “I am very interested in volunteering that is why I chose Women Center”, she said.
About VSN
She came to know about VSN through the website. “I found the website very informative and attractive, so I chose Volunteer Society Nepal” she said. About the staffs of VSN, she said, “The staffs of the VSN are very helpful and co-operative”. The Nepali language classes and the tours organized by the VSN also add to the positive aspect of VSN. She is also very optimistic towards the website of VSN for the detailed information and the latest updates. Sarah believes that if the orientation class could be longer, it would help the volunteers quite a lot during their home stay in Nepal. She is also very happy with the home stay provided by the VSN.
Famous Women Workshop
Everyone can easily fall in love with the Women from the center as they are hardworking, curious and friendly at the same time. Sarah gave a workshop on Feminism in the Center. She gave examples of many famous women and also told them about their struggles and their hard work. This motivated and encouraged the women. She also questioned them and collected opinions about the condition of women in Nepal. Sarah is very happy to see the women learning despite their older age.

This is what Sarah wants to tell upcoming volunteers. “You will always be welcomed with a great smile. The affection and the care you get from the people makes you forget your family”.
