Volunteer Society Nepal : The best experience for volunteers, the best value for Nepal.
Dear Friend of Nepal,
Thank you very much for your concern. It is difficult for us to reply individually to every question, so we prepared this message.
We are all still in shock, and find it difficult to grasp what has happened. The past few days were frightening and a difficult experience, sleeping outside in constant fear of aftershocks. Luckily everybody at VSN and Everest Foundation is ok for now. Our buildings have survived, our kids have survived and our staff is already helping in Emergency Relief activities.
We get lots of question on how to support Nepal. For this we can only accept Financial Support, other support is logistically impossible to accept. With this Financial Support we will provide aid where it is needed the most, we have already started distributing food, water, first aid medicines, polythene sheets/tarpaulins and blankets where necessary.
If you wish to support us, you can do this in two ways.
1) Directly to Nepal if possible for you and not too costly; more information you can find on the VSN website, about; (https://www.volunteersocietynepal.org/2015/04/vsn-earthquake-disaster-relief-fund/) “VSN Nepal Earthquake Disaster Relief Fund”.
2) We also work closely (since 2006) with Ankie and Marcel van Wersch from the Dutch Foundation Tuharuko Awaj. They have opened their bank account for your donations if it is easier (or cheaper) to donate through them. They will forward periodically the donations to Nepal. If you wish to use this option you can use the bank details below and please make reference to VSN Relief Fund.
Bank details:
Name: Stichting Tuharuko Awaj.
Swift/Bic: ABNANL2A
IBAN: NL85ABNA0605440050
Thank you once again for your concern; we hope to meet you again in better days.
Best regards,
Tej Shrestha
