Volunteer Society Nepal : The best experience for volunteers, the best value for Nepal.
Center for Children with Intellectual Disabilities organized a one day workshop on introduction and interaction. The workshop is in cooperation with Volunteer Society Nepal (VSN)
VSN wants to improve the quality of services provided to children with intellectual disabilities. Therefore, this workshop is held on Sunday the 4th of December. It is held at the center itself in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu. Different organizations working with intellectually disabled children were asked to come. As a result, eleven guests from different organizations actively participated in the program, sharing their experiences and professional knowledge. All the guests with in depth knowledge and years of experiences gave very helpful instructions to CCID. Several subjects such as the care, training, therapies, counseling and rehabilitation are discussed during the program.
All the organizations are very positive in providing further knowledge exchange to CCID. One idea is to form a network among the people working with intellectual disabilities. VSN volunteers at CCID Petra Bakker from Holland and Mark Brooking from Australia also shared their experiences. Both are working with disabled children at their home countries.
The name of the participants are:
