Volunteer Society Nepal : The best experience for volunteers, the best value for Nepal.
The Women Center is one of the ongoing projects of Volunteers Society Nepal which aims in empowering the Nepalese Women through education. Apart from English language, Nepali and Math are also taught to these women. These women were not fortunate enough to attend the school in their childhood. The center has categorized the women into three categories: Beginners, intermediate and advanced level. The volunteers decided to volunteer in the center are really in love with the center and the beautiful and enthusiastic Nepali Women. Volunteers who come to the center not only teach the women but also often make donations to the center. A lot of volunteers have lent helping hands to the center either in terms of infrastructures and/or donation of study materials.
The 19 years old volunteer Sarah Lorch from USA volunteered at the women center. For five weeks, she had an amazing experience working with the women. She was here as an intern and she also did her internship in one of the hospitals of Pokhara. “Working as an intern I got to learn a lot from the doctors there. I got to help people and make them feel better”. This is how Sarah remembers her amazing days spent in Pokhara. Pokhara, a major tourist destination in Nepal has attracted a lot of tourists every year.
Sarah has played an important role in teaching the women. She also motivated them in their studies. Apart from this, she also donated textbooks and notebooks to the women. She donated 18 English course books, 4 dozen notebooks, pencils, pens, dusters, tapes and erasers for the women. She also donated toys for the kids of the Talent School, another project of VSN in the same building. We as VSN family are really proud of Sarah and we are happy that she had a very good time in Nepal. We hope that she has a positive message about Nepal and the Nepali people.
If you are interested in teaching the women, you can always feel free to contact us. We assure you that the moments spent with the women will be worth-remembering.
