Volunteer Society Nepal : The best experience for volunteers, the best value for Nepal.
We have recently opened our new women’s education centre! We are very excited that we can continue to empower and educate women of the local community. Dave Bruce is the main donor of the new centre. It was built in loving memory of his late mother, Rosemary Vida Bruce.
Caitlin Ward, a volunteer, is helping at the centre. Volunteer Society Nepal will also offer computer lessons at the centre. We believe this is an important part of women’s education in today’s technological world.
Bas de Visser and Marleen Boersma painted the building. We are extremely thankful.
Volunteer Society Nepal needs volunteers for painting, electrical fittings and gardening. We also need teachers.
At Volunteer Society Nepal we are dedicated to making the most of your time in Nepal while making a difference to the local community. To achieve this we offer a broad variety of volunteer placements around Nepal. Thus, if you are a teacher, doctor, builder, or just beginning your studies, we can find a placement that suits you and gives maximum benefit to the community you work in.
Our volunteer programs include:
Specialist Skills: In the past we have helped place marketers, business consultants, grant writers and web designers to help various causes in Nepal. Any skill can be used, therefore, if you do not see your profession above, please do not worry. We appreciate all volunteers and we most definitely could use your help too!
Multiple placements in one trip: At the request of volunteers we can also combine multiple placements into one trip. You may want to volunteer in a monastery and also in a health clinic, or have the chance to experience both rural and urban Nepal. This is easily arranged. But, please communicate this clearly during the application phase.
VSN also offers group volunteering programs. If you are interested in coming to Nepal with your school, university, family or group of friends then please visit our Group Volunteering Page for more details.
The locations of placements range from very remote mountain villages to small jungle settlements; from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu to the relaxed lakeside living of Pokhara. If you are unsure which program you would like to do, but you know where you would like to be, take a look at our Locations Page for inspiration.
Volunteer Society Nepal staff have over 40 years of work experience with both international and Nepali NGOs. As experts in our field, we always look to serve projects with the most need for international aid. When organizations approach us for support, we evaluate the organization for two months before making a decision. We do this to ensure your skills and money go into the right hands.
