Volunteer Society Nepal : The best experience for volunteers, the best value for Nepal.
Antonio from Italy is here in Nepal for the first time to volunteer with us. He stays with us in Kathmandu for two weeks. He started his two weeks of volunteering by taking language classes and visiting some of the places enlisted in World Heritage sites. Places like Boudhanath Stupa and Patan Durbar Square. His first few days were all about Nepali culture, Nepali language and sightseeing with our language trainer.
He came here with the intent of giving basketball training to the students of CBIA. Unfortunately, due to the examination held at CBIA it was impossible to give basketball training to the students. But we had an alternate task which consisted of painting some of the classrooms for the New Year. He painted some classrooms and some parts of the wall of the school. The whole CBIA team was very happy to see his dedication and express their gratitude towards Antonio for giving a new look to the classrooms. ‘’My contribution may be small but I hope this class may grow new generations that bring positive changes to Nepal”, says Antonio.
Antonio loves to travel in different countries around the world. Before he had been to European countries like Spain and France for a visit. But here in Nepal he came to both travel and volunteer. He only had little time now, but he is planning to come to Nepal again and also visit other places such as Pokhara and Chitwan.
If you only have a short period of time and are worried about managing travel and volunteering then we have a special program called ‘Volunteer and Travel’. If you are interested in this you are very welcome to apply.
